HaiLongOffshoreWind Farm Project and CathayUnitedBank, together with TsarandTsaiLawFirm, AonTaiwan, and ERMTaiwan, hosted the first offshore wind financing seminar and invited shareholders, project advisors, and local financial institutions to participate in the seminar.

The Hai Long project site is located off the coast of Changhua and contains three wind farms: 2A (300 MW), 2B (232 MW), and Hai Long 3 (512 MW). The project is jointly developed by Taiwan Northland Power of Canada, Yushan Energy of Singapore, and Mitsui & Co. of Japan. The construction will begin in 2024 with the total installed capacity of 1,044 MW, which is expected to connect to grid in 2025 and 2026.

DavidPovall, the Executive Vice President of TaiwanNorthlandPower indicated:

“The positive feedback from the seminar highlighted the importance of local financial institutions participating in Taiwan's offshore wind development.”

The shareholder and manager of MITSUI & CO. (TAIWAN), YuichiroNarita has arrived in Taiwan from Tokyo to the seminar to show that the developer attaches great importance to it.

“MITSUI & CO dedicate to developing renewable energy, Taiwan is undoubtedly a key region for our development, and Hai Long is one of Mitsui's most important investment projects in Taiwan.” Yuichiro Narita said.

Deputy Chief Financial and Administration Officer in Hai Long Offshore Wind, SoHagiwara indicated:

“The enthusiastic participation and positive feedback from the public-sector banks and financial institutions, coupled with the full explanation and sufficient information of the seminar, are very helpful for the relevant evaluation of the bank.
