Vena Energy's decade-long commitment driving ten years of renewable energy transformation

Vena Energy, the renewable energy arm of Vena Group, marks a major milestone this year—its 10th anniversary of operations in Taiwan. Since entering the Taiwanese market in 2015, Vena Energy has grown in step with Taiwan's energy transition, evolving from early-stage solar PV development into a key contributor to the nation's clean energy landscape.

Over the past decade, Vena Energy has developed seven solar power plants in Taiwan, with total renewable energy assets reaching 412 MW. These assets deliver more than 620 million kWh of green electricity annually, accounting for approximately 4.65% of Taiwan's total solar power generation, positioning Vena Energy as one of the critical driving forces behind the growth of green power in Taiwan.

A Decade of Achievement Powering Taiwan's Renewable Energy Future

Over the past decade, Vena Energy has continued to expand its footprint in Taiwan, setting new benchmarks for renewable energy development through strong engineering execution and project development capabilities.

The Yizhu Solar Power Plant in Chiayi was once the largest solar PV installation developed on former salt pans in Taiwan. Covering approximately 80 hectares, nearly 30% of the site has been preserved as wetlands and ecological ponds, complemented by the creation of ecological islands and bird habitats.

Through long-term ecological monitoring, the Yizhu project has become a benchmark example of balancing solar energy development with biodiversity conservation. Its on-site Green Energy and Ecology Education Center, inaugurated in 2020, has welcomed thousands of visitors to date and stands as a leading model for environmental education promoted by privately operated power plants.

Another major milestone is the Taixi Solar Power Plant in Yunlin County. Spanning approximately 226 hectares and equipped with around 680,000 solar panels, the project has an installed capacity of 272 MW and generates approximately 400 million kWh of electricity annually—enough to meet the annual power needs of more than 90,000 households. A single facility contributing roughly 4% of Taiwan's total solar power generation, the Taixi project underscores Vena Energy's capability to deliver large-scale, high-impact renewable energy infrastructure.

As its portfolio continues to expand across solar PV, energy storage, and diverse renewable energy technologies, Vena Energy is steadily building a robust green energy infrastructure network in Taiwan, demonstrating strong integration capabilities across the renewable energy value chain.

Ten years of achievements powering the future of renewable energy in Taiwan

Recognition of a Safety-First and People-Centric Culture

While pursuing high standards of power generation efficiency, Vena Energy remains firmly committed to its core value of "Safety First," Across project design, construction, and operations, the Taiwan team has implemented rigorous risk management frameworks and safety standards. From construction traffic planning and equipment inspections to contractor and supplier management, comprehensive measures are in place to continuously strengthen on-site safety culture. As a result, Vena Energy's Taiwan team has been recognized by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for occupational health and safety performance for three consecutive years, achieving the Gold Award in 2025.

In parallel, the company continues to advance an inclusive culture focused on talent development and employee well-being. In 2025, the Vena Group was named one of HR Asia's "Best Companies to Work for in Asia" in Taiwan. The team's score under the Total Engagement Assessment Model (T.E.A.M.) exceeded the market average by 17%, reflecting strong performance in talent development, workplace experience, and organizational culture.

Advancing ESG in Practice: Growing in Partnership with Taiwan's Land and Communities

Guided by the principle of "deep local engagement and sustainable shared prosperity," Vena Energy has, over the past decade, consistently advanced project development models that balance environmental stewardship with community well-being in Taiwan.

In 2025, the "Symbiosis and Shared Prosperity – Sustainable Future of the Yizhu Solar Power Plant" initiative was awarded the Taiwan Sustainable Action Award (TSAA), SDG 15 – Bronze Award (Corporate Category), recognizing the project's tangible achievements in biodiversity conservation and community engagement.

Vena Energy's Taiwan team has also maintained long-term, structured stakeholder engagement through community briefings, site visits, and open days, fostering transparent, two-way dialogue with local residents and relevant stakeholders.

In addition, Vena Energy has been named to the CommonWealth Magazine Corporate Citizenship Award Top 100 (Multinational Enterprises Category) for two consecutive years. In 2025, the company ranked 13th, becoming the only renewable energy company to receive this recognition in back-to-back years—underscoring its leadership in corporate sustainability and responsible project development.
