Taiwan's Ocean Affairs Council (OAC) held a maritime cultural exchange and experiential event in the waters of Dapeng Bay, Pingtung, on Oct. 17–18, bringing together the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) and the Taiwan TAMORAK Cultural and Educational Association (台灣 TAMORAK 文教協會) for their first cross-sector collaboration.

Developers Urge 2025 FiT Inclusion as Taiwan's Floating Offshore Wind Plans Face Delays
The Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan had initially planned to release a draft for its floating offshore wind farm demonstration program by year's end. However, the timeline may face further delays as discussions over incentive mechanisms continue internally. In contrast, neighboring countries like Japan and South Korea are progressing rapidly in floating wind development. Domestic developers urge the government to include floating wind projects in the 2025 Renewable Energy Feed-in Tariff (FiT) review to drive Taiwan's floating offshore wind sector forward.

MOEA Promotes Green Energy in Collaboration with the Ministry of Justice to Combat Illegal Activities
Regarding media reports of criminal extortion targeting foreign green energy companies, the MOEA stated that promoting green energy is not only a crucial measure for carbon reduction but also a pressing need to enhance the international competitiveness of domestic industries. To safeguard the industry development environment, the MOEA has been working with the Ministry of Justice to prevent green energy-related crimes and to combat illegal activities. In collaboration with local governments, efforts are underway to ensure the transparency of the application process, providing a standard operating procedure (SOP) for applicants to follow, thereby eliminating illegal practices during green energy initiatives.

This amendment aims to strengthen "postmarket management" to ensure the compliance and environmental responsibility of renewable energy generation equipment.

The leading renewable energy company, Ørsted, was awarded the Ministry of Labor's 2024 "Work-Life Balance Award (WLBA)" yesterday (30th), through its diverse initiatives and industry-leading flexible policies. The WLBA, the highest national honor established by the Ministry of Labor, acknowledges companies' commitment to employee well-being. Ørsted stood out among 251 companies this year to receive the "Flexible Work Award," making it the only energy company to win the award twice.
