Finnish tire manufacturer Nokian Tires plans to invest approximately 650 million euros to construct the world's first carbon-neutral tire factory in Oradea, western Romania. The entire facility will be powered by renewable energy, with steam generated during manufacturing production without using fossil fuels. Starting from 2025, it is projected to produce 6 million car and SUV tires annually. Romania currently derives around 24% of its energy from renewable sources, and the construction of this factory will contribute to furthering local green energy development.

The rights to the gravity tripod offshore wind foundation developed by the UK company Offshore Wind Logistics and Construction (OWLC) have been put up for sale. OWLC says its gravity tripod foundation is designed for turbines up to and beyond 25 MW and has a 100-year design life, lending itself to easy and efficient re-powering. It can deliver a solution to the offshore wind industry that is quicker, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly than monopiles or jackets.

Italy's Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, has announced that, except for Sardinia, the entire country will cease coal-fired power generation by the end of 2025 and increase the installation of gas-fired power plants. Fratin stated that December 31, 2025, is the deadline for coal cessation, with Sardinia expected to stop coal-fired power generation between 2026 and 2028. Italy has already approved the construction of four new gas-fired power plants, expected to generate 3400 MW of electricity, in efforts to achieve a 43.7% reduction in carbon emissions by the end of 2030.
