|Rui Li 1 Floating Offshore Wind Farm Announces Participation in Floating Wind Demonstration Project

On the 25th, RuiLi 1 Floating Offshore Wind Farm announced its participation in Taiwan's first floating offshore wind farm demonstration project. The project, co-developed by partners IXRenewables, Hexicon, and GFCorporation, combines Taiwan's local expertise with the pioneering experience of the global offshore wind power industry. The Rui Li 1 project aims to leverage innovative floating wind power technology to assist Taiwan in achieving its net-zero carbon emissions target.

This year, Rui Li 1 Floating Offshore Wind Farm successfully passed the first phase of the environmental impact assessment, following the new regulations for offshore wind farms. Located 21 KM off the coast of Hsinchu County, the site features water depths of 75 to 95 meters. The project plans to install 12 floating platforms with a total installed capacity of 180 MW. The expected annual power generation is estimated to reach 833 million kWh, which will be sufficient to meet the annual green energy needs of 205,000 households.

The Rui Li 1 project brings together industry experts with outstanding engineering knowledge, extensive local experience, and broad international vision to develop the wind power potential of the deepwater areas in the Taiwan Strait. IX Renewables, based in the Netherlands, has been deeply engaged in Taiwan for over 10 years, specializing in offshore wind project development and EPCI management (Engineering design, Procurement, Construction, and Installation). Moving forward, teams from Taiwan and the Netherlands will closely collaborate to advance the project according to international standards.

Swedish green energy company Hexicon, with over 15 years of experience in floating wind power development, will integrate its successful projects in Europe and South Korea to lay a solid foundation for the Rui Li 1 project, providing world-class technology and solutions. Japan’s GF Corporation, with its strong technical background in wind power systems, will offer robust support to the Rui Li 1 Floating Offshore Wind Farm.
