2024 Taiwan Offshore Wind Farm Marine Salvage & Emergency Response Summit

As Taiwan's offshore wind industry accelerates, ensuring the safety of offshore personnel and vessels has become increasingly vital. The National Maritime Engineering Association (NMEA) hosted the 2024 Taiwan Offshore Wind Farm Marine Salvage & Emergency Response Summit on 15–16 August 2024 , bringing together government agencies, industry leaders, academia, and international rescue organizations to develop an integrated emergency response framework tailored for Taiwan's offshore environment.

The two-day forum covered four key themes—policy, industry, academia, and medical response—highlighting risk prevention, communication protocols, and sea-air rescue capacity. Representatives from the Ocean Affairs Council, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and Energy Administration joined developers and suppliers to share global best practices.

More than 20 organizations, including Ørsted, OEG Renewables, IX Renewables, Ho Lung Power, and Great Sea Energy, participated to advance Taiwan's offshore safety ecosystem. The event marked a major step toward enhancing offshore disaster prevention and emergency response capabilities for a safer, more sustainable future in Taiwan's maritime wind energy development.
