Zhong Neng Offshore Wind Project recently announced that all 31 jacket-type underwater foundations required for the wind farm were successfully installed by CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering Co., Ltd. (referred to as CDWE) on March 3rd.

The development scope of Zhong Neng OWF covers the offshore wind power site No. 29, announced by the Bureau of Energy, Ministry of Economic Affairs, located off the coast of Changhua. It was selected by the MOEA in May 2018 and allocated a capacity of 300 MW. In January 2019, it obtained European Plan (EP) approval and signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for offshore wind power generation with Taipower in February of the same year.

In November 2019, it signed a contract with CDWE for underwater foundation transportation and installation. The "Green Jade," designed and built by CSBC, made its maiden voyage in August 2023 to execute the installation of the first underwater foundation for Zhong Neng OWF. During installation, it endured four typhoons and overcame the variable seabed conditions and harsh marine weather conditions in the Taiwan Strait.

He stressed that the continuous progress of the installation work was made possible by the teamwork that overcame the challenging offshore working conditions.
