|Italy to Phase Out Coal by End of 2025
Italy's Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, has announced that, except for Sardinia, the entire country will cease coal-fired power generation by the end of 2025 and increase the installation of gas-fired power plants. Fratin stated that December 31, 2025, is the deadline for coal cessation, with Sardinia expected to stop coal-fired power generation between 2026 and 2028. Italy has already approved the construction of four new gas-fired power plants, expected to generate 3400 MW of electricity, in efforts to achieve a 43.7% reduction in carbon emissions by the end of 2030.
|Stagnation Grips Sweden's Electric Vehicle Market
Sweden's electric vehicle market has faced stagnation due to subsidy cancellations and soaring interest rates over the past year, leading to price drops of up to 30% for certain electric vehicles and causing concern among car dealerships and leasing companies. However, Mobility Sweden believes that with the Swedish central bank's anticipated interest rate cuts, electric vehicle prices in Sweden will rebound, and there will be an increase in demand for used electric vehicles.
|Development of Green Highlights in Miaoli's Golden Town with Small Hydropower Generation
The Golden Town (Huangjin Xiaozhen) in Gongguan Township, Miaoli County, Taiwan, boasts unique advantages, with over 800 hectares of farmland. The Irrigation Agency plans to establish the small hydropower generation facility in Miaoli County. The Miaoli Irrigation Management Office recently completed an auction for small hydropower generation and plans to proceed after project approval, prioritizing irrigation functionality and safety and regulating royalties and feedback funds, focusing on fostering neighborly relations. In addition to small hydropower generation, initiatives such as solar greenhouses and smart agriculture will be promoted to create green energy highlights and drive additional value through agricultural tourism.
