Transnational Collaboration × Cross-sector Innovation × Intergenerational Well-being Ten Universities Join TICA VOICE Pioneer Alliance to Advance Innovation in the Longevity Economy

In response to the global aging trend and to promote international cooperation for healthy longevity, holistic health, and inclusive society, the Taiwan Innovation Centre Ageing (TICA), led by Stan Shih, hosted its launch event on March 3. Following the launch, TICA officially announced that ten Taiwanese universities have joined the VOICE, a global network, forming a joint industry-academia initiative to co-create a new blueprint for the future of the longevity industry.
The first ten universities to join the Ageing Intelligence (AI) VOICE Pioneer University Alliance are:
National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), National Chung Cheng University (NCCU), National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tunghai University (THU), National Chengchi University (NCCU), Tzu Chi University (TCU), National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT), University of Taipei (UTaipei), Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU), and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University(NYCU). Stan Shih, Chairman of TICA, stated that Taiwan possesses strong R&D capabilities. Facing the challenges of an aging society, future innovation and development should not only be the responsibility of industry, but also involve academia. High-quality talent is especially needed in this field, and the contribution from academic institutions is essential. Prevention is better than cure, and cross-sector, transnational, and intergenerational collaboration is the key to innovation and transformation.
Shih further expressed his hope that through this industry-academia co-creation effort, TICA VOICE will foster closer academic, industrial, and social collaboration between Taiwan and the UK. This will promote research and development in longevity-related technologies, innovative lifestyle design, and comprehensive support systems for an aging society to amplify the social impact.
With the MOU signed by the ten universities, National Innovation Centre Ageing (NICA) of the UK, and TICA, Taiwan is not only taking a proactive role in international longevity discourse but is also deepening global engagement and reinforcing the momentum for sustainable development.
These leading academic institutions, each with strong research capabilities and a proven track record in social impact, will collaborate with NICA and TICA VOICE on core issues such as technological innovation, holistic health, career transformation, and social connectivity.
Going forward, TICA will continue to leverage the VOICE global community network to listen to the insights and experiences of older adults and like-minded communities. By integrating the strengths of the public and private sectors and civil society, TICA aims to establish an innovative model for aging societies and position Taiwan as a key global partner in the field of healthy longevity.
