|G7 Aims to Increase Energy Storage Capacity Sixfold by 2030 to Address Green Energy Supply Instability
The Group of Seven (G7) aims to increase global energy storage capacity by 6.5 times by 2030 to support the wider use of renewable energy. The draft calls for boosting the power industry's energy storage capacity to 1,500 GW by 2030 through battery storage and hydrogen, up from 230 GW in 2022. This initiative aims to tackle the instability of renewable energy generation and enhance energy security.

|Singapore Maritime Industry Advances Towards Digitalization and Sustainable Development
The Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) recently hosted the Maritime Services Leaders Forum (MSLF), bringing together over 200 global industry leaders to discuss the pivotal role of maritime services in digitalization and green transformation. Teo Eng Dih, CEO at MPA, emphasized the need for maritime services to adapt to changing industry demands, such as the impact of adopting alternative fuels on contractual terms and obligations. The Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA) will establish a working group to delve into this issue. Additionally, to realize sustainable maritime practices, MPA and Enterprise Singapore (ESG) are developing national standards for methanol and ammonia fuel supply.
