|Kaohsiung MRT Gangshan-Luzhu RK1 Extension Line Joint Development Project Officially Signed
The joint land development project for the RK1 station (West Base) of the Kaohsiung MRT Gangshan-Luzhu Extension Line involves an investment of NT$2.7 billion by Dali Development to construct a 23-story commercial and residential building with four underground levels. Dali Development signed the agreement with the city government on July 12, committing to complete the project by 2029, transforming the area into a local gateway. The development project for the RK1 East Base will be announced for investment by the end of this month. Additionally, to complement the opening of the Gangshan MRT Station, the city government will complete the construction of a pedestrian overpass connecting Gangshan Railway Station by the end of July, facilitating easier MRT access for residents from the rear station.

The Executive Yuan has announced the commencement of the first phase of the new Kaohsiung Airport terminal project, which has a total budget of NT$88.08 billion and is scheduled for completion by 2032. Upon completing both phases, the annual capacity will double to 16.5 million passengers, serving as a large terminal for international and domestic flights.

In a recent interview, Kaohsiung Mayor Chi-Mai Chen discussed the future development of the city's technology industry, noting that TSMC's first plant will be completed by the end of this year and operational in 2025; The third plant is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025. According to calculations by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), each plant is expected to create 1,500 job opportunities, with a potential total of approximately 40,000 jobs.
