Taipei's Beitou Incineration Plant has introduced a "smart heat pump system" at the Zhumei Sports Park, recycling waste heat generated from the swimming pool, underground parking lot, and feedback facilities to enhance heating efficiency for the swimming pool, SPA pool, and shower rooms. The cold energy produced is utilized for indoor air conditioning and dehumidification, resulting in annual electricity savings of about 1.2 million kWh and a carbon reduction of approximately 594 metric tons.
