As energy-intensive industries such as data centers and AI continue to expand, the demand for energy across various sectors has surged, making the balancing of costs, power, and sustainability a global challenge. To achieve the global net-zero carbon emission goals, greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced by 43% from 2019 levels by 2030. Under the guidance of the National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD), the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), the Ministry of Environment, and the National Development Council, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Green Energy and Sustainability Alliance (GESA) of SEMI Taiwan are jointly hosting the major green energy and net-zero industry exchange platforms, "Energy Taiwan" and "Net-Zero Taiwan." These events will be held at the Nangang Exhibition Center from October 2 to 4.

The exhibition brings together experts in renewable energy, energy storage technologies, and financial institutions to showcase diverse green energy technologies and new business opportunities. Multiple forums will be held during the exhibition, covering topics such as carbon education, practical strategies for low-carbon transformation, smart energy storage, and renewable energy technologies. Experts are invited to explore future industry developments and opportunities for sustainable cooperation. At the pre-exhibition press conference for "Energy Taiwan" and "Net-Zero Taiwan," various representatives shared key insights and actions.

Terry Tsao, SEMI Global Chief Marketing Officer & President of Taiwan, highlighted that as the global technology industry advances rapidly, net-zero transformation is the only solution to addressing climate change. Innovative green energy technologies continue to be developed worldwide, aiming to achieve energy-saving goals through diverse green energy solutions. SEMI and GESA will actively promote the exchange of green energy policies and technologies between industry and government, jointly expanding sustainable business opportunities in international markets.

Simon Wang, Executive Vice President of TAITRA, stated that the "Energy Taiwan" and "Net-Zero Taiwan" exhibitions bring together industry resources for digital and green transformation. This year, the exhibition set a new record, with 480 companies participating and 1,625 booths. International exhibitors also reached a record high of 20%, making it the largest exhibition in history with a 30% growth in scale.

Chun-Li Lee, Deputy Director-General of the Bureau of Energy at MOEA, emphasized that net-zero carbon emissions are a global goal. The government is accelerating efforts to achieve the 2050 net-zero carbon target through deep energy savings and the development of diverse green energy sources. Increasing the proportion of green electricity in Taiwan’s manufacturing products by 2030 is an urgent priority. The government will continue to collaborate with industries to provide sufficient green electricity and enhance international competitiveness. Additionally, the government is promoting the expansion of ESCOs, which diagnose energy usage and assist in investing in energy-saving equipment, creating a win-win situation.

Kuo Jung Liao, Chairman of TSEC Corporation, noted that continuous innovation in solar technology will help customers mitigate risks from natural disasters. Tim McBride, Business Development Manager at Tesla, emphasized that Tesla's Powerwall home energy storage system provides backup power for residential and small businesses, stabilizing peak and off-peak power demand and reducing overall costs. Hui-Qi Liu, General Manager of Formosa Smart Energy Tech Corporation, pointed out that smart energy storage development has become an essential path for the industry. Formosa Smart Energy has established the largest battery cell factory in the country along the Changhua coast, using self-produced battery cells as the core technology to develop diverse energy storage applications, while integrating battery recycling and solid-state battery research to promote the development of a battery ecosystem. Rui-Yuan Xu , Vice President of Delta Energy Infrastructure & Industrial Solutions, stated that Delta Energy is committed to driving global energy management and the electrification of transportation through renewable energy, smart grids, and electric vehicle charging solutions.
