ASPEED Technology Expands R&D Footprint with Kaohsiung Center　Strengthening North–South Innovation Synergy

Facility at Kaohsiung Port Pier F Anchors Expanded R&D Operations and Launches Immersive AI Experience Center

ASPEED Technology Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of remote server management chips, today officially announced the launch of its Kaohsiung Research and Development Center, located at Pier F of the Binhai Warehouse (Qianzhen No. 3 Warehouse) in the Penglai Commercial Port Zone, Kaohsiung Port. The opening ceremony was attended by Kaohsiung Mayor Chi-Mai Chen, marking the formal inauguration of Pier F as a new innovation site.

The establishment of the Kaohsiung R&D Center signifies ASPEED's completion of a dual north–south operating model, with its headquarters in Hsinchu and a dedicated R&D base in southern Taiwan. This strategic expansion is expected to enhance R&D efficiency while injecting fresh momentum into the technological advancement of southern Taiwan's semiconductor ecosystem.

As the Southern Taiwan Semiconductor S-Corridor continues to take shape, linkages across the semiconductor supply chain and IC design ecosystem have grown increasingly integrated. In addition to its Hsinchu headquarters and Taipei office, ASPEED is deepening its southern presence by positioning the Kaohsiung Port Penglai Commercial Zone as a base for southward expansion. A chip R&D team has already been established at the new center, with plans to continue recruiting local talent and scaling operations over time.

Alongside the R&D facility, ASPEED has also inaugurated a product experience and demonstration center for its subsidiary Cupola360, which is open to the public. The center features interactive zones where visitors can experience Cupola360's latest always-on 360-degree panoramic cameras and AI-enabled platforms in real time. A dedicated immersive exhibition space further showcases Taiwan's diverse landscapes through advanced 360-degree imaging and projection technologies, offering a fully immersive visual experience that blends technology, culture and tourism.

These installations embody ASPEED's brand vision, "Eyes of AI – Infinite Vision for the Future," highlighting Cupola360's image processing capabilities while extending the application of technology beyond industrial use to cultural and experiential value.

Chris Lin, Chairman and President of ASPEED Technology, stated that as southern Taiwan's technology environment continues to mature, the region has developed a strong pool of semiconductor and IC design talent. "By establishing an R&D center in Kaohsiung, ASPEED aims to leverage local expertise to advance our technological development in southern Taiwan and further strengthen our industry competitiveness," Lin said. He added that while the Hsinchu headquarters will remain focused on core IC design, the Kaohsiung R&D Center will consolidate southern talent to support chip development and application expansion.

Lin also noted that the center's location at the harbor-front Pier F offers a unique advantage, combining a high-tech R&D environment with Cupola360's product experience center and Kaohsiung's distinctive port scenery and quality of life—an attractive proposition for recruiting top talent.

Looking ahead, ASPEED expects the Kaohsiung R&D Center to serve as a key driver in its dual-engine growth strategy, accelerating innovation, improving operational efficiency, and enabling the delivery of more efficient and reliable chip solutions to global customers.
