EnergyOMNI, an energy and net-zero information platform, and RECCESSARY, a new energy and carbon market information platform, jointly hosted the 2nd "2026 Comprehensive Energy Development & Carbon Quest For The Future" Forum (「全能佈局・碳贏未來」論壇) from August 20 to 21. The event brought together government officials, international representatives, energy and technology companies, financial institutions and 3rd-party verification organizations to examine the new wave of transformation challenges facing businesses in the AI era, spanning the entire spectrum from energy supply to capital markets.

The 21st Joint Business Conference of MNCCI and CIECA Successfully Held in Mongolia to Explores New Opportunities
The Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) led a 25-member trade delegation to Ulaanbaatar from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2 for the 2026 Taiwan-Mongolia Economic and Trade Mission. Led by the Chair of CIECA, Hsin (Carol) Cheng, the delegation brought together representatives from Taiwan's biotechnology and healthcare, technology, tourism and related industries. In cooperation with the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), the delegation also held the "The 21st Joint Business Conference of MNCCI and CIECA" to strengthen bilateral economic ties through business exchanges, company visits and matchmaking.

Ørsted Completes 920 MW Greater Changhua 2b & 4; 1.82 GW Greater Changhua Wind Farm Cluster Enters O&M Phase
Ørsted held a completion and O&M ceremony on Sept. 1 for the 920 MW Greater Changhua 2b & 4 offshore wind farms. Following the commissioning of the 900 MW Greater Changhua 2a & 1 offshore wind farms in 2024, the projects mark Ørsted's second nearly GW-scale offshore wind development in Taiwan. All electricity generated will be supplied to corporate customers to support their decarbonization goals.

CSBC Corporation, Taiwan (CSBC) held a launch and naming ceremony on the 11th at its Kaohsiung Shipyard for the 100-ton "Taiwan Research Vessel Blue Ocean 101" (澄波 NO.101) and the 300-ton "Taiwan Research Vessel Blue Ocean 102." (澄波 NO.102)

Hai Long Offshore Wind Project Completes NT$55 Billion Incremental Financing; 11 Banks Join for the First Time
The Hai Long Offshore Wind Project, jointly developed by Japan's Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Canada-based Northland Power Inc., and Malaysia's Gentari International Renewables Pte. Ltd., announced on August 11 that it had completed NT$55 billion in incremental financing. In addition to support from the project's existing 7 Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) and participating lenders, the financing expansion also attracted the participation of the National Credit Guarantee Center and 17 financial institutions, including 6 existing participating banks that increased their commitments and 11 newly participating public-sector, private-sector, and foreign banks.

Hokkaido Governor Naomichi Suzuki (鈴木直道) expressed strong support for participating in the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's (METI) public call for floating offshore wind power demonstration projects. In an interview with Nikkei, Suzuki said that Hokkaido "should respond proactively" to the initiative, with potential candidate areas including offshore waters near Hiyama in southern Hokkaido.

SCI Pharmtech Joins Enel X Taiwan's Virtual Power Plant to Achieve a Triple Win in Resilience, Sustainability, and Profitability
Enel X Taiwan, which obtained its "Specified Electricity Supplier" license earlier this year, announced that active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturer SCI Pharmtech, Inc. (SCI) has officially joined its Virtual Power Plant (VPP). Starting from the Q3 2026, SCI Pharmtech will integrate approximately 1 MW of flexible capacity from its backup power assets into Taipower's Energy Trading Platform for "Spinning Reserve Ancillary Services," supporting grid stability while maintaining production reliability and product quality.

MOEA Unveils New Offshore Wind Power Roadmap, Targeting Up to 27.9 GW of Installed Capacity by 2039
The MOEA announced the "2026–2039 Offshore Wind Mid- to Long-term Development Plan," aiming to add approximately 15–18 GW of offshore wind development capacity. Under a four-year auction mechanism, around 8 GW will be allocated in each phase, with the government targeting cumulative installed capacity of 18.3–19.9 GW by 2035 and 24.7–27.9 GW by 2039.
