Taiwan Sugar Corporation (Taisugar) is marking its 80th anniversary with a series of celebratory activities. The company recently held a press conference for the grand prize drawing of its "Taisugar 80th Anniversary: Sweet Luck All the Way (台糖慶 80 甜蜜好運一路發)" campaign, bringing the three-month promotion to a close. At the same event, Taisugar officially launched the "2026 Taisugar Charity Run,"which will take place on October 24 at Taisugar's Jianshanpi Resort in Liuying. The event aims to encourage the public to support charitable causes through exercise and turn the values of health and sustainability into concrete action.

Taisugar noted that as the company celebrates its 80th anniversary this year, it launched an invoice registration lottery under the theme "Celebrating 80 Years of Taisugar," attracting nearly 8,000 participants and close to 20,000 registered invoices. The grand prize was a "Stay at Taisugar Hotels" accommodation package, allowing the winners to stay at Taisugar's Evergreen Plaza Hotel, Jianshanpi Resort and Taisugar Hotel Taipei, among other properties, and gain a deeper understanding of the company's long-standing sugar industry heritage and brand identity through the hospitality experience.

As part of Taisugar's 80th anniversary celebrations, the "2026 Taisugar Charity Run" will be centered on the theme "Passing on Sweetness and Love, Passing on Health," with race categories of varying distances designed to accommodate professional runners, families with children and the general public. In addition to the running events, the program will feature charitable donations, health promotion activities, a themed market and product experiences, creating an annual event that brings together sports, social responsibility and local culture.

Taisugar said that, in celebration of its 80th anniversary, the company has launched a series of brand and cultural initiatives this year, including cultural exchanges with railway organizations in Japan and the United Kingdom, a 600-person formation event, the release of an 80th anniversary commemorative publication and video, as well as a range of anniversary merchandise. Through these initiatives, Taisugar aims to showcase the industry heritage and brand value it has built over the past 80 years.

In addition, regarding the recent Central Union Oil Corp. incident in Taiwan, Taisugar said that food safety remains a non-negotiable priority for the company. Taisugar proactively conducted sampling and submitted the relevant products for testing on July 1, with all test results so far meeting national food safety standards. The crude oil raw materials involved in the Central Union Oil incident were used in soybean salad oil produced between June 1 and July 9, 2026, with production batch numbers ranging from 20270531 to 20270708. In line with government policy, the relevant oil products have been subject to preventive removal from sale, and Taisugar will conduct additional testing of the affected batches to ensure product quality and food safety.

Looking ahead, Taisugar said it will use its 80th anniversary as an opportunity to further strengthen the connections among its brand heritage, healthy living and sustainable development. Through initiatives such as the charity run, the company will invite the public to participate and carry forward the brand spirit built over the past 80 years as it looks toward the next decade.
