CSBC Corporation Taiwan (referred to as CSBC) jointly owned CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering Co., Ltd. (referred to as CDWE) completed the installation of the last foundation for the Zhong Neng Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) on March 3rd. A total of 31 underwater jacket foundations were installed by the wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV) "Green Jade," designed by CSBC.

The Zhong Neng OWF, developed jointly by China Steel Corporation (CSC) and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is part of the second-phase potential site plan announced by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Located offshore Changhua, the wind farm has an allocated capacity of 300 MW and is scheduled for grid connection in 2024. CDWE signed the Zhong Neng OWF underwater foundation transportation and installation project with China Steel Power Corporation on November 7th, 2019, including installing 93 piles and 31 jacket foundations.

The initial pile driving for the wind farm was carried out by another joint venture between CSBC and a foreign company using the vessel "DEME Offshore Apollo," which started in early March 2023. The Green Jade vessel was delivered in July of the same year and immediately began the installation of jacket foundations, with the average installation time per foundation reduced from 48 hours to 15 hours by early December last year.

Wen-Lon Cheng, Chairman of CSBC & CDWE, stated, "Last week, the Indigenous Defense Submarine (IDS) was successfully floated and will continue Harbor Acceptance Trials (HAT) and Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT). Since the establishment of the local maritime engineering company "CDWE" with DEME Offshore in 2019, the "Green Jade" has been deployed for Zhong Neng OWF operations immediately after its successful delivery in July last year, and this March will commence the Hai Long OWF Project as planned."
