|France Initiates Large-Scale Solar Energy Revival to Ensure Energy Independence
France's solar photovoltaic industry has lagged behind in recent years. France is launching a large-scale revival of its solar energy industry to ensure energy independence, introducing multiple incentives. These include increasing the proportion of domestically manufactured solar panels to 40%, offering tax incentives, and implementing highway solar panel projects. France has also signed solar agreements with renewable energy developers and buyers to promote the solar panel ecosystem and market in France collectively.
|Malaysia Drives Energy Exchange Platform Focusing on Cross-Border Sales to Singapore
The Malaysian government has established the Energy Exchange Malaysia (ENEGEM) platform, which will facilitate the cross-border sale of green electricity to neighboring countries such as Singapore. The Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) declared that sales conducted through this platform will adhere to the Guide for Cross-Border Electricity Sales (CBES Guide) issued by the Energy Commission. PETRA has invited bidders to participate in the first green electricity auction through the Singapore platform, involving a capacity of 100 MW.
|Taipower Promotes Environmental Achievements Exhibition and Ecological Conservation Projects
On April 23rd, Taipower company held the 2024 Environmental Month Presentation. It reviewed achievements such as reducing the air pollution intensity of its thermal power units by nearly 70% since 2016, approximately decreasing carbon emissions intensity by 8%. Taipower also showcased ecological maps of eight major power plants and 10 unique species habitats. Taipower also released its largest-scale documentary on bat research at Taipower's Yunlin Wind Farm. Taipower progressively upgraded environmental equipment in units, promoted low-carbon gas-fired power plant renewal projects, and actively advocated for carbon capture, hydrogen, and ammonia co-firing power generation.
