NTU Experimental Forest and Fox Forest Establish Taiwan's First BioCredits Demonstration Site Urging Corporate Participation on the Road to COP30
The 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP30, will highlight "nature" as its core theme this year, emphasizing biodiversity and the positive value of nature. In response to the global challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss, the National Taiwan University(NTU) Experimental Forest has partnered with Fox Forest, a subsidiary of Shinfox Energy, to establish Taiwan's first demonstration site for Biodiversity Credits (BioCredits) in Shoufeng Township, Hualien. The initiative calls on Taiwanese businesses to take early action and join this "biodiversity ultramarathon" to foster positive growth for ecosystems and environmental sustainability./p>

Today (23), Ørsted announced that the first turbine from the 920 MW Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms has successfully delivered first power to the national grid of Taiwan. This marks a major milestone on the path to commercial operation and establishes the project as the world's first offshore wind farm to supply renewable energy to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) under a corporate power purchase agreement.

Star Charger and Taiwan Railways Launch Eastern Line's First EV Charging Network Bridging Infrastructure Gap in Hualien and Taitung Tourism Corridor
HD Renewable Energy (HDRE) subsidiary Star Charger, a full-service EV charging operator, continues to expand Taiwan's EV charging ecosystem. On July 23, the company announced the official launch of its Eastern Railway Charging Network, established in collaboration with the state-owned Taiwan Railways Corporation(TR). This new network aims to improve charging convenience for long-distance and tourist routes in the Hualien-Taitung region. Since its founding in 2021, Star Charger has partnered with major national brands such as City Parking, FamilyMart, and PX Mart. The company plans to activate 15 more high-power dedicated stations by 2026, moving steadily toward its goal of building 1,000 stations across Taiwan by 2027.

Formosa 2 Strengthens Local Fisheries Engagement with Donation of 450 Life Jackets to Enhance Maritime Safety
Formosa 2 Wind Power has long been committed to supporting the development of local fisheries and ensuring the safety of fishermen. In 2024, the company donated 200 life jackets to the Nanlong District Fishermen's Association in Miaoli County. This year, responding to the needs of the fishermen, Formosa 2 further deepened its care by donating an additional 250 life jackets. A donation ceremony was held on July 21, attended by Formosa 2 CEO Nuta Chen, EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Manager Wen-Fan Lo, and several representatives from the Nanlong District Fishermen's Association. As a company aligned with the government's offshore wind power policies, Formosa 2 not only complies with relevant regulations but also actively takes on the role of safeguarding fishermen's safety by providing essential safety equipment to promote safe fishing operations.

Veolia Achieves 108 Million m³ in Water Savings and Offsets 2.8 Million Tons of CO₂e Across Urban and Industrial Operations in Asia
Veolia, a global leader in ecological transformation, has released data showcasing its contributions to building a sustainable future across Asia. In 2024 alone, Veolia conserved 108 million m3 of freshwater in Asia through water reuse, desalination, and leakage reduction initiatives, enough to cover the daily water needs of over 2 million people in Asia for an entire year. Beyond water savings, Veolia also reduced over 2.8 million tons of CO2 equivalent emissions (Scope 4) for its clients in the region, contributing to the environmental targets set by countries such as China (Dual Carbon Goal), South Korea (Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth), and Singapore (Green Plan 2030).

Walsin Lihwa (Walsin) announced a major investment plan by its UK subsidiary, Special Melted Products (SMP), in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The plan targets the UK's steel and advanced manufacturing industries and includes the acquisition of high-end melting and forging equipment, as well as the expansion of existing facilities. In July 2024, a turbine blade failure occurred at the Vineyard Wind 1 offshore wind farm, resulting in damages to the Town and County of Nantucket, Massachusetts, and local businesses. Turbine manufacturer GE Vernova has recently reached a USD 10.5 million settlement agreement with Nantucket to address the losses.
