Transnational Collaboration × Cross-sector Innovation × Intergenerational Well-being Ten Universities Join TICA VOICE Pioneer Alliance to Advance Innovation in the Longevity Economy
In response to the global aging trend and to promote international cooperation for healthy longevity, holistic health, and inclusive society, the Taiwan Innovation Centre Ageing (TICA), led by Stan Shih, hosted its launch event on March 3. Following the launch, TICA officially announced that ten Taiwanese universities have joined the VOICE, a global network, forming a joint industry-academia initiative to co-create a new blueprint for the future of the longevity industry.

Ørsted Awarded Silver at 2025 Taiwan Biodiversity Action Awards — First Offshore Wind Developer Recognized for Marine Ecosystem Conservation
Ørsted today announced it has been awarded the Silver Prize in the for-profit category of the 2025 Taiwan Biodiversity Action Award (TWBA), becoming the first offshore wind power company to receive this distinction. The award recognizes Ørsted's efforts to integrate marine ecological conservation into the planning, construction, and operation of offshore wind farms.

This round encompasses both fixed-bottom and floating offshore wind projects, which will follow a distinct timeline from other renewable technologies.

Hydrogen Grand Prix Taiwan 2025 Launches Team Taiwan to Compete in World Finals This August in Germany
To foster new energy talent and align with global renewable energy education, the world's largest interdisciplinary hydrogen education initiative—Hydrogen Grand Prix (H2GP)—has officially kicked off. The inaugural H2GP Taiwan was held in July 6th at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology. A total of 12 high school and vocational school student teams from across Taiwan gathered in Kaohsiung to compete in a four-hour endurance race using hydrogen-powered remote-controlled model cars of their own design.

FTC Approves Merger Involving Taiwan Smart Electricity & Energy Reinforcing Support for Corporate Green Power Procurement
On July 2, the Fair Trade Commission (FTC) approved the merger filing submitted by Taiwan Smart Electricity & Energy, allowing six companies—China Steel Corporation, CPC Corporation, Chunghwa Telecom, ASE Group, UMC, and Tung Ho Steel, to jointly operate Taiwan Smart Electricity & Energy's electricity purchase and sales business. In addition to government-affiliated enterprises, major corporations with significant green energy demands have also actively participated in investing in Taiwan Smart Electricity & Energy.

The Hai Long Offshore Wind Project (hereinafter referred to as the Hai Long Project) has partnered with Sing Da Marine Structure (SDMS) to launch a "Localized Talent Training Program," fully sponsored by Hai Long. This initiative aims to integrate SDMS's experience in jacket foundation manufacturing to help develop local talent and strengthen technical capacity in Taiwan's offshore wind sector. The training also incorporates HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) concepts through practical case studies to enhance participants' awareness and capabilities in workplace safety and sustainable development.

Lightsource bp, a leading developer and manager of global onshore renewable energy projects, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Star Trade for its Budai solar project in Taiwan. The agreement secures 100 percent of the project's contracted electrical output – equivalent to 115MWp.
