Since the liberalization of green energy trading in 2017, the power market environment has progressively diversified, and fair grid usage has seen advancements. These amendments emphasize the ongoing strengthening of the power system, while increasing regulations for grid-connected energy storage and demand response measures to align with renewable energy development trends.

With the development of the AI industry and corporate carbon reduction goals, the demand for green electricity in Taiwan is increasing. Helios Power Collaborates, a subsidiary of Guang Hao Group, has actively facilitated a collaboration with the Bank of Kaohsiung to provide more transparent financial flow information for green electricity transactions and to create a better protection mechanism. On July 17, the Bank of Kaohsiung and Helios Power Collaborates officially signed an agreement to launch the "Green Electricity Trust" jointly.

RWE Renewables has been granted a feasibility licence for the construction of the Kent Offshore Wind Farm, with a capacity of up to 2 GW. The wind farm is located off the coast of Gippsland in Victoria, Australia. This licence provides RWE with a 7-year development period to obtain all necessary permits. The Kent Offshore Wind Farm is expected to be completed and operational by the early 2030s.

Due to stable sales in its ship and specialized special vessel sectors, SK oceanplant has advanced the increase of offshore wind power-related orders. Starting in the 2nd half of the year, SK oceanplant will begin delivering orders for Taiwan offshore wind projects, with expected growth in performance. According to SK oceanplant, consolidated sales for the second quarter of 2024 are estimated at 218.4 billion KRW, with an operating profit of 13.7 billion KRW, reflecting decreases of 15.3% and 54.4%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

On the 15th, the Ministry of Economic Affairs published the "2023 National Electricity Supply and Demand Report," which details the power supply situation for the year. The report takes into account various influencing factors and energy-saving measures while outlining electricity demand and construction plans for the next ten years (2024–2033). It anticipates a growth in electricity demand of approximately 12–13% by 2030. To meet the increasing demands of the AI industry, immediate construction of new units, upgrades to the power grid (substations), and energy storage systems are required to ensure stable power supply, along with a call for societal support for the development of related power facilities.

The joint land development project for the RK1 station (West Base) of the Kaohsiung MRT Gangshan-Luzhu Extension Line involves an investment of NT$2.7 billion by Dali Development to construct a 23-story commercial and residential building with four underground levels. Dali Development signed the agreement with the city government on July 12, committing to complete the project by 2029, transforming the area into a local gateway.
