The Kaohsiung Urban Planning Commission approved the MRT Yellow Line Y20 station project, potentially making the Fengshan Chung-Lun area the new hub of East Kaohsiung. Chung-Lun, located near Wujia and Daliao, boasts convenient transportation with the future Yellow Line and National Highway 7. With limited large-scale development space in surrounding areas, Chung-Lun offers substantial potential. The Economic Development Bureau aims to position Chung-Lun as a hub for medical biotech and software design industries, seeking to expand its area and attract flagship enterprises to establish headquarters, forming an industrial chain and spurring development.

The 2024 "International Conference on Sea Lane Security," co-hosted by the Ocean Affairs Council (OAC) and National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) on the 7th at the Taipei International Convention Center. The conference was attended by experts and scholars from 9 countries, including the United States, Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, India, South Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam and Taiwan, to discuss the future direction of global maritime security and international cooperation.

Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon.com company on 12th announced it will launch an AWS infrastructure Region in Taiwan by early 2025. The new AWS Asia Pacific (Taipei) Region will give developers, startups, entrepreneurs, and enterprises, as well as education, entertainment, financial services, and nonprofit organizations, greater choice for running their applications and serving end users from data centers located in Taiwan, ensuring that customers who want to keep their content in Taiwan can do so. As part of its long-term commitment, AWS is planning to invest billions of dollars in Taiwan over the next 15 years.

Following the recent installation of the world's first 18 MW offshore wind turbine with a diameter of 260 meters by Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC), Siemens Energy has announced the imminent completion of its 21 MW wind turbine, which will be the largest offshore wind turbine manufactured by Siemens Energy to date. The estimated output power is approximately 40% higher than that of the company's other turbine models, with the largest turbine boasting a rotor diameter of 236 meters.

Hon Hai Technology Group announced on June 4th the establishment of an advanced computing center in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in collaboration with NVIDIA. The center will be centered around the super chip GB200 servers, comprising a total of 64 cabinets and 4,608 Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). Completion is anticipated by 2026. Concurrently, Foxtron Vehicle Technologies Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hon Hai Technology, is advancing into the new Qiaotou plant in Kaohsiung, which is set to become one of the group's flagship AI factories.
