Taiwan's Ocean Affairs Council (OAC) held a maritime cultural exchange and experiential event in the waters of Dapeng Bay, Pingtung, on Oct. 17–18, bringing together the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) and the Taiwan TAMORAK Cultural and Educational Association (台灣 TAMORAK 文教協會) for their first cross-sector collaboration.

Since establishing its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Taiwan in 2016, Ørsted has become one of the country's major foreign investors, ranking 2nd in cumulative foreign investment. The company has participated in the construction of 199 offshore wind turbines, representing nearly 2 GW of installed capacity.

Germany is set to invest 20 billion euros in the construction of approximately 9,700 kilometers of hydrogen network. This initiative, which has received approval from the Bundestag and awaits a vote by the Bundesrat, is designed to advance the transition towards a climate-friendly economy. The hydrogen infrastructure will find applications in heating, aviation, shipping, and other sectors, potentially replacing coal or natural gas. The program is projected to operate until 2032, with the possibility of an extension until 2037 to alleviate the financial responsibilities of industry stakeholders.

Over 2,000 elderly women filed a lawsuit last year, citing health and survival risks from heatwaves and alleging the Swiss government's failure to mitigate global warming constituted a violation of their rights. After a year-long legal battle, they emerged victorious. Non-governmental organization Avaaz welcomed the verdict as a legal blueprint for citizens to hold governments accountable on climate issues.

Star Exchange Signs Green Lease Agreement with Cathay Life Insurance
HD Renewable Energy's subsidiary, "Star Exchange," signed a 20-year MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with semiconductor giant ASE Technology Holding in the first quarter of 2024, followed by a green lease agreement with Cathay Life Insurance. Starting this year, Star Exchange will begin supplying green energy to Cathay Life Insurance's office buildings, making it easier for tenants to access green energy. The initial estimate for the contract period is to supply at least 325 million kWh of electricity.
