OAC hosted the "APEC Workshop on Promoting Women's Participation in Ocean Science for Sustainable and Inclusive Ocean Governance"
The Ocean Affairs Council (OAC) hosted the "APEC Workshop on Promoting Women's Participation in Ocean Science for Sustainable and Inclusive Ocean Governance" in Kaohsiung on March 16-17, in order to promote and enhance the participation of women in the field of ocean science, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the "Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development" initiative, and the APEC 2023 theme "Creating a Resilient and Sustainable Future for All." Representatives from APEC member economies were invited to Taiwan to share and discuss issues related to enhancing regional gender awareness and creating an inclusive environment in the field of ocean science, as well as advancing toward gender equality and inclusiveness in ocean governance.

BCCTaipei Hosts 'Women in Business Forum: Climate Action Taiwan' to Share Research on Women's Role in Climate Action
On 16 March 2023, the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (BCCTaipei) held the "Women in Business Forum: Climate Action Taiwan" to present the findings of its cross-industry research on the status and role of women in climate action in Taiwan. The report identifies three key suggestions for increasing female representation: more hardline governmental legislation for businesses, i.e. tax breaks to incentivise female promotion; regulations to appoint at least one female director per organisation; and more creative means to facilitate women's entry into in-demand industries where they are underrepresented. The research also examines the wide variety of measures adopted by private organisations to tackle climate change in keeping with local policies and legislation.

CSBC expects to complete the installation of the subsea foundation by CSBC's Green Jade in the second half of this year
CDWE was awarded a contract for the construction of foundation transportation and installation for an offshore wind farm in Changhua, as well as a priority contract for wind turbine transportation and installation in 2019. The project is expected to commence in April this year with the pre-piling of foundation piles. CSBC expects to complete the installation of the subsea foundation by CSBC's Green Jade in the second half of this year.

Kuosheng 2 Nuclear Power Plant Unit 2 will be officially decommissioned on March 14th. As a result, a base electricity output of 985MW is estimated to be lost. The Ta-Tan Power Plant Unit 8, slated to go online at the beginning of April, still requires some testing before it can support peak power usage on time. This presents a challenge for the facility.
