Based on "Offshore Wind Power Zonal Development Site Capacity Allocation Guidelines," the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) officially declares the commencement of the offshore wind 3.2 auction application period. Applicants can submit their applications from 9:00 AM on March 11, 2024, until 5:00 PM on April 10, 2024.

The MOEA underscores applicants' need to adhere to the guidelines strictly, preparing the required documents according to specified formats. Applicants must deliver these documents, along with electronic copies, which should be personally delivered to the Energy Administration during the acceptance period or submitted via registered mail (with the postmark serving as evidence).

The offshore wind 3.2 auction has been a focal point of interest for developers. Following numerous deliberations, the MOEA announced the "Offshore Wind Power Zonal Development Site Capacity Allocation Guidelines" in November this year, introducing adjustments that include prioritized capacity limits. The Industrial Relevance Plan and quantities are now at the discretion of the developer through a self-selected model. This adaptation considers developers' suggestions for an extended pre-bidding period, enabling thorough utilization of the upcoming Weather Window for offshore surveying activities.

Regarding the subsequent actions' scheduling, the auction submission deadline is revised to April 2024, with the announcement of the phase 2 auction results anticipated in May 2024.
