The First Transaction on TCX Emerges Ming-Hsin Kung Optimistic about Hydrogen Accounting for 20%
Taiwan Carbon Solution Exchange (TCX), the international carbon credit trading platform, was officially onboard on the 22nd, with the business community eagerly embracing the arrival of carbon trading. Ming-Hsin Kung, Head of the National Development Council, stated that the first transaction in carbon trading might involve foreign carbon credit transactions. The initial stage online doesn't currently offset carbon fees, and specific reductions are still unclear as related regulations are expected to be formulated next year.


Decrease in Energy Expenditure - Japan's Inflation Slows Down During November
Data released by the Japanese government on December 22 reveals that due to decreases in electricity and gas expenses, Japan's core Consumer Price Index (CPI) growth rate dropped from 2.9% in October to 2.5% in November.


WSJ: U.S. Government Considering Raising Tariffs on Chinese Electric Vehicles
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on December 21, citing informed sources, that the U.S. government is contemplating increasing tariffs on some Chinese products, including electric vehicles, to promote the development of the U.S. clean energy industry. Currently, the U.S. imposes a 25% tariff on imported electric cars from China, which helps restrain subsidized Chinese automakers from entering the U.S. market. The impact of raising tariffs on electric vehicles on U.S. consumers is expected to be relatively limited.
