After 2 years of consultation, the Canadian government has unveiled the Electric Vehicle Availability Standard (EVAS), mandating manufacturers and importers to achieve annual Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) sales targets. The minimum standard for light-duty vehicles available for sale will start at 20% in 2026, progressively increasing to 60% by 2030 and reaching 100% by 2035.
