Today (11th) marks the deadline for contract submission under the Offshore Wind Zonal Development Round 2. All 5 allocated developers have submitted their documents for contract signing. The selected projects are Shinfox Energy (Yuanta / 700 MW, grid connection 2029), SRE (Formosa 6 / 800 MW, grid connection 2029), CIP (Fengmiao II / 600 MW, grid connection 2029), Corio (Formosa 3-site 11 / 360 MW, grid connection 2028), and Enervest (InfraVest, DeShuai / 240 MW, grid connection 2028), totaling five offshore wind farms with a combined allocated capacity of 2.7GW. The Energy Administration explained that after receiving the submissions, it will promptly review the relevant documents and complete the administrative contract procedures to commence wind farm construction. The targeted completion and grid connection dates for Zonal Development Round 2 are in 2028 and 2029, respectively, which are expected to add 2.7 GW of installed capacity and supply over 10 billion kWh of green electricity annually.

Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) announced today (11th) that it has formally submitted the administrative contract documents for the Formosa 6 Offshore Wind Project to the Energy Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs, on schedule.

Lucas Lin, Chairperson of the SRE Group, stated: "We are grateful to the central authorities, local governments, and related agencies for their recognition and support of the Formosa 6 project. As a leading offshore wind developer in Taiwan, SRE shares the strong demand for green energy from the semiconductor and other export industries. We fully support the importance of achieving renewable energy targets by 2030. We will continue to comply with relevant government regulations and collaborate with various parties to overcome challenges, contributing to a sustainable future."

Formosa 6 marks the SRE Group's first offshore wind project in central Taiwan, located off the coast of Xianxi Township, Changhua County. Covering a total area of approximately 84 square kilometers, it is situated about 35 kilometers from the nearest shore. The project's maximum potential installed capacity is 1 GW, with an allocation of 800 MW awarded during the Zonal Development Round 3 Phase II auction. Once completed and successfully connected to the grid, it is expected to provide electricity to approximately 860,000 households.
