HD Renewable Energy (HDRE) has established a solar storage & charging integrated demonstration station in Tainan, equipped with solar photovoltaic systems, energy storage facilities, a 120 kW Charging Station, V2G Charging Station, and an Energy Management System (EMS). This site has been transformed into a regional Smart Grid, also known as a "Micro-Grid." In situations where disasters or accidents result in power disruptions, the demonstration site can generate electricity independently and, when necessary, disconnect from the grid to prevent a recurrence of Taiwan's 303 blackouts. Moreover, the Micro-Grid serves a dual purpose of energy conservation and sustainability.

The Micro-Grid, responsive to demand, effectively allocates and delivers stored renewable energy, overcoming its intermittent nature and serving as a supplementary grid to the large-scale power network. The accompanying energy management system can forecast the optimal energy usage model for end-users, enhancing electricity efficiency. Besides reducing electricity costs, it contributes to achieving sustainability goals.

Yuan-I Hsieh, Chairman of HDRE, emphasizes that energy storage and end-user load management are critical factors in ensuring flexibility and resilience in Taiwan's power supply and demand system. The solar storage & charging integrated demonstration station represents the achievement showcase for Taiwan's next-phase development goals.

A critical facet of HDRE's evolution into an intelligent electricity company hinges on its "TITAN Energy Management System," forged through AI technology. This system excels in data collection, forecasting optimal power consumption models, and addressing the issue of unstable green energy supply and demand. Notably, it incorporates AI-based security monitoring, enabling automated safety management at photovoltaic installations and extensive energy storage facilities and facilitating the efficient procurement of green energy for corporate clients.

The solar storage & charging integrated demonstration station features an "AI Interactive Device" designed to acquaint the public with the "TITAN Energy Management System." This interactive device possesses sensory capabilities, responding to human body language, movements, and verbal queries. It enables engagement with TITAN and offers an educational experience in green energy through interactive games.

The Solar Storage & Charging Integrated Demonstration Station features two types of solar modules: Roof PV Systems and Carport PV Systems, along with commercial and small-scale residential energy storage solutions.

Shi-Chang Zhou, the General Manager of HDRE, pointed out that the surge in European electricity prices, coupled with the growing popularity of small-scale residential energy storage systems, has increased demand. European consumers can take advantage of lower electricity rates during off-peak hours by purchasing and storing electricity, which can then be used during peak hours. With the right policies in place to encourage every household in Taiwan to adopt a small-scale energy storage system, we can collectively work towards achieving the goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

The "Situation Room" within the Solar Storage & Charging Integrated Demonstration Station integrates and visualizes all data, giving the public a clear overview of daily solar discharge, energy storage system status, discharge levels, and the electrical load at demonstration points. It also allows real-time monitoring of the operation of the integrated light storage and charging system installed externally, including photovoltaic modules, energy storage equipment, and electric vehicle charging stations. Both everyday consumers and those interested in renewable energy can gain preliminary insights into and envision the future lifestyle of renewable energy in their daily lives.
