Taiwan Smart Electricity & Energy Co., Ltd. (TSEE) announced today (Dec. 5) the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Formosa 4, a project under Synera Renewable Energy Group (SRE Group). This marks TSEE's second long-term offshore wind procurement contract, underscoring the company's expanding presence in Taiwan's offshore wind market and its strategic role in supporting national energy policy, improving market efficiency, and advancing industrial power transition.

The Formosa 4 offshore wind farm, located off the coast of Miaoli County, will have a total installed capacity of 495 MW. Once fully commissioned and connected to the grid, it is expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 500,000 households annually, providing a stable and long-term source of green energy for domestic industries.

TSEE noted that the partnership not only broadens the company's offshore wind sourcing portfolio, but—through its aggregated procurement and distribution model—also helps lower the entry barriers for wind power purchases. This enables more enterprises to access renewable electricity and offers clear, flexible procurement options for companies pursuing RE100 commitments, carbon management, or green power acquisition goals. By doing so, TSEE aims to support businesses in increasing renewable electricity usage, advancing supply-chain decarbonization, and strengthening sustainability competitiveness.

TSEE added that it will continue deepening collaboration with both offshore wind developers and corporate buyers. The company aims to build a long-term, diversified, and resilient green power supply system that enhances market momentum, supports Taiwan's energy transition, and accelerates progress toward the 2050 net-zero emissions target.
