Amid surging demand for green electricity from Taiwan's export-driven industries, Synera Renewable Energy Group (SRE), a leading offshore wind developer in the Asia-Pacific region, announced today the signing of a corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) with Taiwan Smart Electricity & Energy Co., Ltd. (TSEE). Under the agreement, SRE will supply stable, long-term renewable power from its Formosa 4 Offshore Wind Farm to support industrial decarbonization, strengthen green competitiveness and contribute to sustainable development.

Formosa 4 was awarded 495 MW in Taiwan's Round 3 Phase 1 offshore wind auction in 2022. Upon completion and grid connection, the project will deliver a dedicated portion of its output to TSEE's green power trading platform. This arrangement will help accelerate renewable energy procurement for companies facing urgent clean-power needs as they work to meet corporate sustainability targets and international supply-chain requirements.

SRE Chairman Lucas Lin stated, "Offshore wind is widely recognized as a critical source of large-scale, secure and clean energy. We are pleased to partner with TSEE on this mutually beneficial agreement, which not only provides long-term revenue certainty and strengthens the project's financial foundation, but also enables more companies to obtain stable and competitively priced green electricity. This will support their operational continuity, enhance global competitiveness and advance long-term sustainability goals."

Located off the coast of Miaoli, Formosa 4 obtained its establishment permit at the end of 2024—becoming the first project among its Round 3 Phase 1 peers to achieve this key milestone. Once completed, the wind farm is expected to supply high-quality renewable power equivalent to the annual consumption of approximately 500,000 households.
