Anchor Handling Towing Supply Vessel (AHTS), CSBC "Titan Vessel"
CSBC Corporation Taiwan (hereafter CSBC) aimed to enhance the capabilities of domestic wind power engineering vessels. On January 16 this year, CSBC organized the "Anchor Handling Towing Supply Vessel (AHTS) Naming Ceremony." The ceremony was presided over by CSBC Chairman, Wen-Lon Cheng, with Hsueh-Chen Chen serving as the naming guest, naming the vessel "Titan Vessel" (referred to CSBC No.16, Avatar Kendrick). The vessel is hoped to become a formidable asset in future maritime projects within the country.
The Titan Vessel is certified for a towing capacity of 157 tons and a horsepower (hp) of 12,000, setting the highest standards among similar vessels in East Asia. With a deck area of 580 square meters and a payload capacity of 2,900 tons, it is well-suited for various heavy cargo transport requirements. The vessel is capable of underwater engineering tasks, including deploying anti-noise air curtains, underwater detection and positioning, and subsea foundation grouting operations.

The Titan Vessel, equipped with DP2 (Dynamic Positioning System), can maintain the position and heading of the vessel in certain environmental constraints, minimizing the impact of sea conditions compared to conventional vessels. In the waters around Taiwan, especially during the influence of the winter northeast monsoon, it not only extends operational hours but also proves valuable in maritime rescue. Given the absence of local rescue vessels in Taiwan, its immense towing capacity can contribute significantly to maritime rescue operations, ensuring the region's navigation safety.
The Titan Vessel is equipped to accommodate 46 individuals and features facilities like medical rooms, prayer rooms, and a gym, all meeting the standards set by maritime conventions. It is designed to support various maritime operations, including marine salvage, drilling, laying submarine cables, towing, anchoring, supplying, rescue missions, air curtain deployment, observation, accommodation, transportation, and offshore oil spill cleanup. Additionally, the vessel complies with the dangerous goods and chemical transportation regulations of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and can be employed for offshore grouting operations.
