Launch of Offshore Wind Power Industry Talent and Technology Development Project Press Conference
Taiwan's offshore wind power industry has grown to a total value exceeding 1.5 trillion NT dollars, spurring the rapid development of related supply chain industries and a demand for tens of thousands of professionals in the offshore wind energy sector. The National Taiwan University (NTU), hosted a launch press conference today (9/5) at Yunlin Branch, National Taiwan University's Agriculture Incubation and Extension Center. This conference marks the initiation of the "Offshore Wind Power Industry Talent and Technology Development Project" bringing together five technological universities and corporate entities.

Vena Energy Taiwan Ventures into Offshore Wind Power, Set to Participate Phase 3 Offshore Wind Zonal Development 2nd Stage Selection
Vena Energy Taiwan is expanding its presence in the offshore wind energy sector by entering the second stage selection of Phase 3 Offshore Wind Zonal Development with the "Wei-Long" and "Wei-Na" wind farms. Since joining the Taiwanese market in 2015, Vena Energy has undertaken robust development, construction, and operation of seven solar facilities. Among them, the Yunlin Offshore Industrial Zone, spanning 226 hectares and equivalent to eight Da'an Forest Parks, was inaugurated on April 22, 2023, on Earth Day by President Ing-Wen Tsai. This facility has consistently contributed to Taiwan's green energy landscape.

5 companies have applied to Taiwan's MOEA for the signing of administration contracts for the 3.1 auction
Total of 5 companies have applied to Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) for the signing of administration contracts for the 3.1 auction. The Ministry's Bureau of Energy (BOE) has indicated that the applications have been received and the industrial relevant plan will be reviewed in order to promptly complete the signing process. The 3.1 phase of zonal development is scheduled to take place between 2026 and 2027.

This 440 MW project was awarded in the Round 3-1 Offshore Wind Zonal Development in December 2022 with grid connection year in 2027. Huanyang is EDF Renewables' first offshore wind project in Taiwan. It marks a milestone on its ongoing efforts in the Asia-Pacific region and its dedication to support Taiwan's commitment to energy transition.

HD Renewable Energy's Star Renewables Facilitates Green Energy Transfer to Assist Bank SinoPac in Creating a Green-Powered Building
HD Renewable Energy's subsidiary, Star Renewables, has entered into a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) with Bank SinoPac. The contract for the year 2023 involves the procurement of 14.3 million kWh of green electricity, with a commitment to further increase their green energy demand. Since 2022, Bank SinoPac has been purchasing green energy, introducing 2.6 million kWh annually to its own office building, equivalent to about 10% of Bank SinoPac's total electricity consumption. This translates to an annual carbon reduction of 1,323 metric tons, approximately equivalent to the carbon sequestration capacity of 3.4 Da'an Forest Park in a year.
