Formosa 2 Donates 200 Life Jackets to Nanlunz Fisher's Association to Ensure Fishermen's Safety

According to Labor Occupational Accident Insurance statistics, the occupational injury rate in the fishing industry has been more than 4 times higher than that of all other industries over the years. To safeguard fishermen's safety at sea, Formosa 2 today (2nd) donated 200 inflatable life jackets, certified by SOLAS, CCS, and EC, to the Nanlunz Fisher's Association in Miaoli. Representatives from the Fisher's Association and local fishermen were invited to participate in the event, where they experienced the lightweight life jackets suitable for fishing operations and shared the vision of mutual prosperity between the fishing industry and offshore wind power.

Formosa 2 actively supports government policies and closely monitors the needs of local fishermen. This donation reflects a deep understanding of the high-risk nature of fishing operations. Statistics show that the survival rate of those who fall into the sea without wearing a life jacket is only 48%, while wearing a life jacket increases it to 75%. Traditional foam life jackets are often bulky, but inflatable life jackets, favored by fishermen for their lightweight and ease of use, can significantly enhance safety during fishing operations.
