Speaker Themba N. Mabuza of the Eswatini House of Assembly led a parliamentary delegation to CPC Corporation's Taoyuan Refinery today (24th) to review the facility's storage tank operations and overall site management. CPC Chairman J. Z. Fang received the delegation, extending a warm welcome and sharing updates on the company's energy transition and sustainability initiatives—further underscoring the deep and longstanding ties between the two nations.
This visit marks the delegation's fourth trip to the Taoyuan Refinery, following earlier visits by King Mswati III in October 2022, former Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini in March 2023, and incumbent Prime Minister Russell Dlamini in March 2024. During today's tour, Speaker Mabuza remarked that Taiwan is his "second home," reaffirming Eswatini's strong friendship and support.

Chairman Fang noted that CPC remains a steadfast partner to Eswatini and will continue to share expertise in refining operations and refinery transformation. CPC is committed to supporting Eswatini in strengthening its oil storage and operational capabilities, advancing deeper and more practical bilateral cooperation.
As a major supplier of refined fuels to northern Taiwan, the Taoyuan Refinery has steadily advanced its transformation by introducing emerging energy technologies and promoting sustainable innovation. Through scale models and on-site tours, the CPC team briefed Eswatini delegates on refinery operations as well as storage tank area and filling station functions.
To commemorate the visit, Chairman Fang presented Speaker Mabuza with a model of the Chuhuangkeng derrick and oil pump—symbolizing Taiwan's early exploration technologies and the nation's entry into industrialized petroleum production. The Eswatini delegation gifted a traditional shawl featuring the Eswatini flag and motifs, along with a beaded ornament depicting the national flags of both countries, draping it over Chairman Fang as a gesture of goodwill. Both sides expressed hope for continued cooperation in energy development, economic partnership, and mutually beneficial growth.
