According to a recent report by Les Echos, echoing the call from Prime Minister of France, Gabriel Attal, to encourage plastic reduction in industries, a plan is underway to target 50 industrial zones with the highest plastic usage. Minister for Ecological Transition and Cohesion Christophe Béchu mentioned prioritizing these zones, previously identified for emitting the most GHGs, to implement models supporting carbon reduction and encouraging industries to decrease plastic production.

MOENV Taiwan Announces the First Batch of 143 VER Projects with Applicable Reduction Methods
The Ministry of Environmental (MOENV) has announced the first batch of 143 Voluntary Emission Reduction (VER) projects with applicable methods. These are intended for businesses or government entities at all levels interested in implementing reduction projects in Taiwan to obtain "carbon credits." MOENV confirms that these carbon credits align with international quality standards.

The South Korean government today (Friday) unveiled plans to ease safety regulations for Hydrogen Refueling Stations (HRS) as part of plans to boost their numbers to 458 by 2030, up from the current 192. Key among the proposed changes is the removal of the requirement for hydrogen equipment to be at least 12 metres away from surrounding buildings. This rule has limited the number of possible locations an HRS can be built, especially in South Korea’s densely populated cities. The government plans to replace the HRS distance restrictions with a new requirement for “protective walls” that must be made of reinforced concrete, concrete blocks and/or steel plates— in order to protect third-party property in the event of an explosion.

Vestas Unveils First V174 Offshore Wind Turbine Nacelle in Taiwan
Vestas has completed the first local hub-nacelle assembly and testing of the V174 offshore wind turbine nacelle at its factory in Taichung Port, Taiwan. According to Vestas, following the complete local assembly of hub components in 2023, Vestas has, for the first time, accomplished the merging and testing of nacelles and hubs in Taiwan.

According to a South Korea government official on Tuesday, South Korea has slammed the brakes on BlackRock's offshore wind farm project worth around 10 trillion won ($7.5 billion), citing financing uncertainty and an insufficient transmission network for what was set to be the country's largest wind power complex.
