The NREC of the Korea Energy Agency announced the result of the "2023 Fixed Price Contract Auction for Wind Power Projects" and has selected 5 successful bidders with a combined capacity of 1431MW and received approval out of a total of 8 (totaling 2067MW submitted applications) projects in the offshore wind sector.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) officially announced the "Industrial Relevance Plan for Offshore Wind Zonal Development"
The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) officially announced the "Industrial Relevance Plan for Offshore Wind Zonal Development" (Stage 2: Applicable to those completed and grid-connected in 2028 and 2029). This policy is designed with 3 objectives: energy self-sufficiency, industrial resilience, and establishing an Asian base. The three approaches involve (1) offshore wind farm developers committing to implement the Industrial Relevance Plan independently; (2) ongoing development of industrial resilience, emphasizing industry clusters, facilitating investment, and fostering job creation; (3) execution methods encompass industrial procurement, industry collaboration (technology transfer, licensing, commissioned manufacturing), and industry investment (sole proprietorship, joint ventures).

Based on "Offshore Wind Power Zonal Development Site Capacity Allocation Guidelines," the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) officially declares the commencement of the offshore wind 3.2 auction application period. Applicants can submit their applications from 9:00 AM on March 11, 2024, until 5:00 PM on April 10, 2024.
