Taiwan's Ocean Affairs Council (OAC) held a maritime cultural exchange and experiential event in the waters of Dapeng Bay, Pingtung, on Oct. 17–18, bringing together the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) and the Taiwan TAMORAK Cultural and Educational Association (台灣 TAMORAK 文教協會) for their first cross-sector collaboration.

Since establishing its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Taiwan in 2016, Ørsted has become one of the country's major foreign investors, ranking 2nd in cumulative foreign investment. The company has participated in the construction of 199 offshore wind turbines, representing nearly 2 GW of installed capacity.

CSBC Corporation Taiwan Organized the AHTS "Titan Vessel" Naming Ceremony
CSBC Corporation Taiwan (hereafter CSBC) aimed to enhance the capabilities of domestic wind power engineering vessels. On January 16 this year, CSBC organized the "Anchor Handling Towing Supply Vessel (AHTS) Naming Ceremony." The ceremony was presided over by CSBC Chairman, Wen-Lon Cheng, with Hsueh-Chen Chen serving as the naming guest, naming the vessel "Titan Vessel" (referred to CSBC No.16). The vessel is hoped to become a formidable asset in future maritime projects within the country.

Hywind Scotland, the World's First Commissioning Floating Offshore Wind Farm, to Temporarily Halt Operations for Heavy Maintenance. Located in the Scottish waters, the floating wind farm, Hywind Scotland, developed by Norwegian developer Equinor, has been in operation for 7 years since 2017, featuring Siemens Gamesa turbines. It recently announced a 3 to 4-month interruption in its commissioning for subsequent maintenance work. Developed by Equinor with approval from the Scottish government in 2015, Hywind Scotland is the world's first commissioning floating offshore wind farm, boasting a capacity of 30MW.

Eolmed Floating Wind Farm Starts Taking Shape in Mediterranean Sea
Bourbon Subsea Services has successfully installed a Floating Electrical Hub (FEH)[1] at the Eolmed floating offshore wind farm in southern France, marking the completion of the initial phase of the 30 MW project. The FEH, connected to three 10 MW-rated Vestas wind turbines, is expected to generate over 110 million kWh/year by 2025, meeting the energy needs of 50,000 residents.

Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation (Eurus Energy) announced today that Dohoku Wind Farm LLC, a group company of Eurus Energy, has completed construction of the north section (capacity: 68.8 MW) of the “Ashikawa Wind Farm” (capacity: 128.8 MW) in Toyotomi Town, Hokkaido, and its commencement of commercial operation on January 4, 2024. When the south section is completed, the “Ashikawa Wind Farm” will be the largest onshore wind farm in Japan.

German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has received an order for 106 megawatts (MW) from Capital Energy in Spain, the company has announced. The agreement covers 18 N163/5.X turbines for the Mareas I & II wind farm. They will be delivered in spring 2025 and are expected to be operational in June of the same year. The agreement also includes a 20-year service agreement. The Mareas I & II wind farm is located near Mequinenza in the province of Zaragoza.
